KTM updates SX Mini range for 2024
In what they’re calling a completely fresh approach to model development, KTM have announced details on their SX mini motocrossers for 2024, led by redesigned versions of the 50 SX and 65 SX, as well as an updated and improved 50 SX Factory Edition.
Combining proven elements from the adult SX range with consideration for young riders’ body proportions, the MY24 50 SX and 65 SX were developed in co-operation with several international test riders. The result is an advanced new steel frame, while the subframe is a 2-piece unit, made of lightweight, fibreglass-reinforced steel.
According to KTM, this new chassis allows for multiple adjustment options to suit growing juniors. The subframe, suspension, handlebar position and bodywork are now height adjustable, while seat height can be adjusted from 634mm to 683mm on the 2024 50 SX and 730mm to 760mm on the 2024 65 SX.
Suspension updates applied to both mini-motocrossers include a USD 35mm WP XACT AER fork and an all-new, fully adjustable WP XACT rear monoshock. KTM says this unit provides perfect balance and damping characteristics. Both the 50 SX and 65 SX also have revised fitment and geometry to suit the frame and updated suspension.
The KTM 50 SX Factory Edition continues to offer components that place it above the standard 50 SX. For 2024, the Factory Edition adds a full FMF exhaust system and Iridium BRISK FE-specific spark plug – both are all-new additions. There’s a new ignition and airbox, with updated ignition timing and carb settings to suit. Also new for 2024 are two power reduction kits, an updated clutch for the auto transmission, a single radiator, reprofiled handlebar and the addition of frame protectors. The fuel tank, side covers, front plate and footpegs have been redesigned, too.
Defining features for the race replica remain, like Red Bull KTM Factory Racing-inspired graphics and a high-grip KTM Factory seat in orange.
KTM say they’ve put the same energy and attention to detail into the 2024 SX Mini range as the full-size models. Australian release of the 2024 KTM SX minis is expected from February, 2024. For more details, see your KTM dealer, or go to: ktm.com/en-au
